Berkeley’s ARRA bonanza

Microsoft’s Jon Udell has created a fascinating database of work from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the government economic stimulus plan (hat tip: Scott Mace).

Enter Berkeley and look what you find: 195 projects awarded for $327.6 million. The bulk of that, of course, goes to Lawrence Berkeley Lab and the university. But there are also awards to the Berkeley Unified School District, the City of Berkeley for its solar energy program, and for some healthcare providers in the city.

A great tool for scrutinizing where some federal dollars are going.

  • Hi Lance,

What I would most love to see happen is for those grantees in Berkeley to write online about their work, and tag their online writing with their award numbers.
