Cupkates: an update
After suspending business today to meet with the city regarding their permit, Cupkates, Berkeley’s mobile cupcakes truck, has just posted the following on its Facebook page (and Twitter):
The City Manager and Mayor’s office assured me that they would spend time with me today to resolve my permit situation. After numerous calls and emails went unanswered, I again went to City Hall to wait. They simply said they were too busy to meet with me, and … Continue reading »

Bravo writes: “It’s a special place with an amazing vibe. I go to their ShimmyPop class. The music is fun and super cheezy. What makes it so great is their emphasis on … Continue reading »

According to an email to parents from Mark van Krieken of the BHS PTSA, “The SGC will be meeting in the near future to start examining how best to move forward in their continuing effort to address … Continue reading »
Any takers for a Music House?
The other day we recounted an anecdote where someone had been overheard saying they only read two news sources — The New York Times and, ahem, Berkeleyside. I was slightly skeptical, but one of the participants in that conversation has written in both confirming the details and making an open proposal to fellow Berkeleyites.
I’ll let Elijah Chancey make his own pitch:
Obsessed with music? Still raving on and on to your friends about the show you … Continue reading »
