Ideas to reduce your carbon footprint
Last year, we attended a carbon footprint workshop and since then we’ve had a steadily diminishing amount that isn’t recycled or composted. Others in Berkeley seem to have done the same, which is one of the reasons why refuse revenues in the city are down.
But the planet is a more important cause than city revenues, so you can learn how to reduce your footprint tonight at a free workshop run by the City of Berkeley, the Ecology … Continue reading »

This newly listed home at 1419 Summit Road will likely appeal if you want a leafy bolt-hole up in the hills with a mid-century modern vibe.

Coming in at 1,688 sq ft, it is priced at $815,000 … Continue reading »

The Daily Clog reports that Clinton was charismatic and a little red in the face, although otherwise in “the bloom of health” (which is how I remember him when I shook his hand a decade ago – plus ca change).
The thrust of his … Continue reading »

What’s cooking at Berkeley’s Kitchen?
The Cal Cooking Club has spawned more than one non-profit culinary entity with roots in Berkeley and an international reach.
Newcomer Berkeley’s Kitchen, founded by UC-Berkeley alum Cristina Lau, aims to offer adults an edible education at affordable prices with an emphasis on showcasing the rich diversity of ethnic cuisine in this community.
Lau, 23, grew up in Tijuana and San Diego, and recalls peeling shrimp and washing dishes at the Chinese restaurants her parents owned. … Continue reading »
