Behavior on Berkeley’s frat row makes TV news

Coming a little late to the party, CBS’s “Inside Edition” is broadcasting a segment on rowdy goings-on on Berkeley’s frat row, and the decision by neighbor Paul Ghysels to file a class action lawsuit against all 35 fraternities near the campus.

Deer attacks Berkeley woman and her dogs

This is not a joke — last night’s TV news reported on an attack by a lone deer on Berkeley resident Sarah Lopus (left) and her two dogs, Oliver and Lucy, while they were out walking yesterday afternoon.

Bittersweet: Artisanal chocolate made in Berkeley

Tucked away behind a glass door in a new block of buildings on Fourth Street sits Berkeley’s only chocolate manufacturer.

Bittersweet, best known for its string of cafes in Oakland, San Francisco and Danville that serve delicious cups of hot cocoa, has started producing its own chocolate bars. Made from single-source farms or collectives in Bali and the Dominican Republic, the Bittersweet bars are made in small batches that can take up to a week to finish.
