Here is a link to an interesting recent piece by Barry Ritzholtz, author of &quot;Bailout Nation&quot; and widely noted and respected economist.   The gist of the piece is that those blaming CRA are certainly not letting any facts stand in their way.  In fact, if you can quantitatively prove that CRA was a serious problem (in contrast the real problems he mentions) he will pay you $100,000:
