Wishes come true for Berkeley public school teachers
Last month a lot of teachers in California woke up to a good day. You may have read about it in the Chronicle — one immensely good Samaritan decided to write a very fat check and convert teacher wish-lists into reality.

The Never Land of Zeta Psi: excavating a frat house
Laurie Wilkie‘s archaeological journey began with a dig, as you’d expect. But rather than occurring in some exotic spot, the dig that led to the just-published Lost Boys of Zeta Psi was just outside the windows of the university’s Archaeological Research Facility at 2251 College Avenue.
