The obituaries for Jack LaLanne say that his first gym was located in downtown Oakland. Does anyone know where it was, and whether the building is still around?

The obituary in the New York Times noted that “He began experimenting with weights at the Berkeley Y.M.C.A.” I’m guessing that this was in the late 1920s or early 1930s. Might a young Jack LaLanne have worked out in the same building as many of today’s Berkeley residents?
