    The Kitchen Sisters reading, by Alice and many others, captures, in a few minutes, the essence.  Don’t miss the description of the tall tree in front of Chez Panisse, over 100 years old and of a species that lives to 600 years. And, Mario Savio’s “gears of the machine” speech, which, for many of us, never fails to capture the what of why we did what we did.
