Berkeleyside

Reminder: Berkeleyside Open Office, today, 5-7pm

Our last Open Office was also held at PIQ in downtown Berkeley. Photo: Tracey Taylor

Join Berkeleyside this evening for an “Open Office” at which we hope to say hello, sip coffee, munch Pane Italiano Qualita (more commonly known as PIQ) in downtown Berkeley.

We held our inaugural Open Office on May 11 2011 and had a great time. We drank coffee, ate delicious slices of pizza and talked. Ideas were thrown around, suggestions made, concepts discussed. Several of the people who showed up to chat and chow have since become regular Berkeleyside contributors. Others are valuable tipsters for stories. Still others became sponsors and advertisers. We answered questions and heard about what you wanted to see more of from Berkeleyside.

Most importantly, we got to know one another. Berkeleyside is a communtity endeavor above all, fueled by collaboration.

So join us, for 10 minutes or an hour.  Let us know you can make on the Berkeleyside Open Office Facebook events page.

When: Thursday April 26, 5:00-7:00pm.

Where: We’ll be upstairs at PIQ café, 91 Shattuck Avenue (between University and Addison) in downtown Berkeley.

Everyone looks pretty well dressed. I’d have to show up in my gardening clothes.

Thank you to Lance, Wendy, Tracey, and Frances for having this!  I enjoyed meeting everyone and the pizza was delicious.  Will definitely be back at PIQ!

Glad I brought extra coins so that my parking meter was as well fed as everyone who attended.  Great idea … but as Roy Scheider said … you’re gonna need a bigger boat (or meeting place)

To increase the number of community suggestions regarding what Berkeleyside could be doing better I recommend holding the next open office at Triple Rock and making sure everybody gets at least three or four beers in them.

    Zellerbach? I hear it holds 2,000+ !

Or a winery? Some of us prefer a good Cabernet!

I like the idea of Triple Rock, but knowing the kind of things some people post on Berkeleyside, a whinery could be more appropriate.

Alas – had to bow out early for my final night photo class at the Harvey Milk Center in SF.

Brennan’s, followed by a got-your-back night Berkeleyside photo shoot of West Berkeley?

Thanks for the pizza! Berkeleyside rocks!

I changed out of my shorts and tattered t-shirt just for the occasion.
