Update, 12:55 p.m.: Matt Campbell got it right. This is the elephant described by Robert Singer, who took the photo, as the “Pirelli Pachyderm” at Cedar and Scenic. Congratulations, Matt, on being this week’s winner!

I’m not sure where it is… but I love it!

In front of the Republican Party headquarters in Berkeley?

  • Eleanore

Yes! You got it. and it’s brilliant!

  • Tizzielish

I don’t think the Republican Party, in Berkeley or anywhere, would choose such an artistic elephant to represent their logo. This elephant does not deserve your aspersions. lol — only kidding, I don’t mean to sound harsh, I write lightheartedly.

North Berk. Cedar St x Scenic St. Made completely of recycled tires and what looks like some exhaust parts. I think it was an art project made by a fine arts student who is a friend of the home owners, if memory serves. The owners are very creative artsy and sciencey folks. She’s an AIDS researcher and he runs the SETI program at UCB.
