re: Segregation remains a significant influence in BHS academics (BHS Jacket)

this statement (among others) seems inaccurate, anyone know the current racial breakdown?

“For example, life expectancy for residents living in South Berkeley — which is 73 percent African–American — is 62 to 64 years.”

The census(dot)gov site allows you to get this information down to the census block level. It uses a map overlay so the interface is somewhat intuitive.

Has nothing to do with segregation. Teens shooting each other to death when they get “dissed” drives down the mean life expectancy.

yeah, the data presented in the Jacket is hardly accurate.
