Only one of the speakers at Uncharted: The Berkeley Festival of Ideas revels in titles like Terroirist and the Original Rhône Deranger. Randall Grahm, founder of Bonny Doon Vineyard, is both one of the more insightful figures in the wine world and one of the more humorous.

Grahm will be at Uncharted on Oct. 25-26 in conversation about the good, the bad and the ugly in wine today. His own personal journey sent him from the elusive pursuit of what he calls the Great American Pinot Noir to the Rhône varieties that established Bonny Doon’s reputation.

Grahm’s conversation on wine joins discussions on robotics, income inequality, mass extinction, the 2014 mid-term elections, creativity, the continuing relevance of the humanities, civil rights and much, much more during the two-day Uncharted festival, which is being produced by Berkeleyside. The festival includes lively hands-on workshops and a fabulous party in the atrium of the Berkeley Art Museum (where good wine will no doubt be consumed).

Meet the many other fascinating speakers who will be at Uncharted, and register to attend at the Uncharted website. (Note: early-bird discounts end on Sept. 27.)
