A man sought treatment at the hospital after being assaulted on Grizzly Peak Boulevard about 24 hours after a robbery in the same vicinity, police have reported.

No one has been arrested.

According to a statement released Sunday evening by the University of California Police Department, the agency received a report earlier in the day about an aggravated assault at either Signpost 15 or 16 on Grizzly Peak.

The male victim, whose age was not disclosed, had been at the turnout with some friends when a fight broke out between his group and another group between 3:39 and 4:09 a.m.

“During the altercation the victim was struck with an object that was used as a weapon,” UCPD reported. “The victim was transported to a local emergency room for treatment.”

No suspect information was provided except that the group that included the assailant or assailants included three males.

Saturday morning, two men were injured during an armed robbery near Signpost 15 at 3:30 a.m. In that robbery, three males approached three other people who were enjoying the view and demanded their property. Two of those males had guns, according to UCPD.

The victims, both male, “suffered minor injuries during the encounter.” Limited suspect information was provided.

UCPD asks anyone with information about these incidents to call 510-642-6760. Find additional alerts from UCPD on Nixle, and learn how to sign up for those alerts.
