DIJITAL FIX It seems like the Elmwood is always expanding its assortment of new shops and among them is the newly opened Dijital Fix Design & Electronics. Originally from Brooklyn, the store made its West Coast debut in San Francisco in 2012, and has just opened its Berkeley location. (The spot used to be Collector, which closed over the summer.) What can you hope to find at Dijital Fix? An eclectic mix of widgets and gadgets and thingamajigs that meet at the intersection of fashion, home decor and electronics. It’s at once a curiosity shop and a resource for functional household items, depending on your interests. Dijital Fix has also kept its San Francisco flagship store at 820 Valencia St. near 19th in the Mission. Dijital Fix is at 2950 College Ave. (at Ashby Avenue). Phone: 510-982-5040. Hours: Weekdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m, weekends until 9 p.m. Connect with Dijital Fix on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and Twitter.

YOGOFINA FROZEN YOGURT There are certainly plenty of places to tantalize your sweet tooth these days, but if you’re looking for something new, find yourself at Yogofina Frozen Yogurt (which we flagged up as being on the way in March). Located in the space that was formerly home to Body Time, the possibilities are nearly endless. Having just opened Sept. 24, the owner said the shop offers a healthy dessert alternative to ice cream. With over 30 flavors, including “snickerdoodle” and “apple pie,” you can still go basic with straight-up chocolate or refreshing peppermint. Get adventurous and embellish it with a creative topping of nuts, fruit or something more decadent. Yogofina is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and has four other stores around the East Bay. Yogofina is at 2911 College (at Russell Street). Phone: 510-427-9203.

URBAN REMEDY With stores in Marin and San Francisco, including a partner outlet at SFO, the Berkeley location of Urban Remedy is coming soon to the Elmwood (as we mentioned back in April). With “Food is Healing” as its tag line, Urban Remedy is a purveyor of plant-based, organic prepared foods and nutritional juices to satisfy a spectrum of palates including raw, vegan and gluten-free. The chain — at a location that used to be  — is the brainchild of Neka Pasquale, an active practitioner in natural healing practices, such as nutrition and acupuncture, who aims to “bring her knowledge to the masses.” Once it’s open you’ll find an array of low-glycemic juices to quench your thirst  for cleansing, and wraps and rolls, salads and veggie bowls to nourish your body. Dietary-specific meal plans, tinctures, snacks and teas are also available. According to CEO Paul Coletta, Urban Remedy is shooting for a mid-November opening date and is planning a grand opening celebration. A new location in Walnut Creek has just opened as well, at 1320 Locust St. Urban Remedy is at 2946 College (at Ashby). Phone: 855-875-8423. Hours to be determined.
