Science Party for middle school students: help develop science curriculum, earn a $15 iTunes gift card!
Curriculum developers and education researchers at the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley are designing a new generation of middle-school science curriculum for use across the country.
We invite students in the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grades to the Lawrence Hall of Science to help us develop science curriculum materials during a “Science Party” session on Saturday, December 1st. Each student participant will receive a $15 iTunes gift card!
What will my student do at the Science Party?
Parents can sign up their student to attend one 1.5 hour session with a group of up to 6 students at the Lawrence Hall of Science. Researchers will engage students in one to two brief interviews (20-40 minutes) about activities in development for our curriculum. In the interviews, students will answer questions or think aloud as they work through activities, such as watching videos or playing games on a tablet computer (iPad), solving fun science puzzles, answering science questions, or testing hands-on science activities. Supervision and fun activities will be provided throughout. Students will have free access to the museum after their Science Party session.
Sounds fun! How do I sign up?
