TALES OF OLYMPUS: A GREEK MYTH MUSICAL
Families seeking a unique way to celebrate the holidays will enjoy the Bay Area Children’s Theatre’s production of TALES OF OLYMPUS: A GREEK MYTH MUSICAL, opening Saturday, December 8, at 2 p.m. at the Osher Studio in the Arpeggio Center, 2055 Center Street, Berkeley.
Peering down from their home on Mount Olympus, the ancient Greek gods and goddesses see a fast-paced, modern world filled with folks who, gulp, don’t remember them. Holy Thunderbolts! Who will tell their stories? Calliope and Hermes descend from the mountaintop to ask 11-year-old Jason for his help.
In this rollicking musical premiere, we journey with Jason to meet Zeus and the rest of the Olympian family and hear their intriguing adventures. Directed by Emily Morrison, with book, music and lyrics by local artist Min Kahng.
“We are grateful to the community and to the East Bay Community Foundation for supporting the creation of this production," said Nina Meehan, executive director, Bay Area Children’s Theatre.
TALES OF OLYMPUS: A GREEK MYTH MUSICAL plays December 8 -- 22, Saturdays and Sundays, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Special evening performance on Friday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m.
Recommended for ages 6 and up.
