    Square School Design Camps allow young people to try out a variety of design identities as they experience joy and agency in learning with technology. We are offering four unique one week design camps for young people this summer. Spend time in the studio and time outside recharging. Each week has a different theme: 6/18-6/22 Game Design, 6/25-6/29 Fashion Design, 7/16-7/20 Minecraft Architecture, and 7/23-7/27 Circuit Playground.

    Jam Camp West is a creative seven-day (six-night) music, dance and vocal program held in the redwoods of Northern California from July 21-27, 2018. A great alternative to traditional music camps, Jam Camp West is an inclusive, supportive program that exposes kids 10-15 years old to contemporary musical trends with the cultural underpinnings of jazz.

  • Fiddlekids Summer Camp

    Now in its twenty-first year, Fiddlekids is a unique, fun-filled summer day camp devoted to traditional fiddle music. Fiddlekids features learning & playing by ear, improvisation, traditional dance, music-based art, and a final performance at the Freight & Salvage. Boasting an experienced teaching staff and a wonderfully supportive atmosphere, Fiddlekids has introduced hundreds of youngsters to a lively and expansive fiddle repertoire. We welcome young violinists and fiddlers with at least one year of violin playing experience. No previous fiddle knowledge is required.

    Start your summer off right! Enjoy a variety of fun activities such as games, arts and crafts, sports, and making new friends, all while being supervised by enthusiastic City of Berkeley staff. Choose from one (or all) locations throughout the city – Cedar Rose Park (11am-4pm), Rosa Parks Elementary (11am-5pm), Longfellow Middle School (11am-5pm), and Grove Park (10am-4pm). Low weekly fees.   • Chabot Science

    Calling all young engineers, astronauts, explorers, makers, and problem solvers!

    Chabot Space and Science Center will offer summer camps in 2018 with four different science and engineering themes. Each week-long camp will provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences combining science, engineering, and outdoor explorations to develop problem-solving skills as well as science understanding.

    Camprs will navigate activities led by Chabot instructors, all taking place inside Chabot’s science labs, classrooms, and museum spaces as well as outdoors in Redwood Regional Park.
