If you’re going cold turkey over the fact that Mad Men had its season finale this week, head on down to Shattuck Cinemas for a last chance to get your mid-century style fix.

Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman is, we hear, a sumptuous documentary about the accomplished Californian architectural photographer who captured the work of nearly every modern and progressive architect since the 1930s including Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, John Lautner and Frank Gehry.

Directed by Eric Bricker and narrated by Dustin Hoffman, the film is described as “a joyful portrait of the magnetic, whip-smart gentleman who chronicled the evolution of modern architecture with his unforgettable images”.
