Berkeleyside exists primarily to help Berkeleyites know what’s going on in their city and provide a forum for the many issues that concern people living here. But as we all know, “Berkeley” has a wider resonance in society, and there are many people outside the city who remain interested in what’s going on in our city.

I looked yesterday at the latest visitor statistics for Berkeleyside and discovered something curious. In the last month, according to Google Analytics, we’ve had visitors from 49 states. The once exception? North Dakota. We’ve had two visits from Tanzania, but not a sausage from Bismarck, Fargo or any other burg in the 39th state. I know there are only 650,000 people in the Roughrider State, but isn’t there one just a tiny bit curious about Berkeley?

Incidentally, what happened to Lake Michigan on the map that Google Analytics provides (above)?
