Mark Liolios, founder of Aquatic Park Egret, has been named one of five Cox Conserves Heroes for the Bay Area. The program, run by the Trust for Public Land, honored Liolios for more than a decade of work in environmental education and restoration at the south end of Aquatic Park.
Each of the five finalists receives $1,250 to donate to the nonprofit of their choice. Liolios has donated the money to Berkeley Partners for Parks. There is an online vote for a winner among the five, with an additional $3,750 for their chosen nonprofit. You can vote online on the Cox Conserves Heroes website.
