This is a partial list of recent crimes in Berkeley, compiled by Berkeleyside, and based on reports to the Berkeley Police Department unless otherwise noted. The following items represent just a sampling of calls, and times may be approximate. From June 20-26, there were 14 burglary reports, 33 auto break-in or theft from a vehicle reports, and 15 stolen vehicle reports to the Berkeley Police Department, according to CrimeMapping.comSeven robberies and eight assaults, domestic violence incidents or batteries were reported. These numbers are subject to change. June 20, Thursday

Seven burglaries or thefts from vehicles were reported: at 6:49 a.m. in the 2500 block of Shattuck Avenue; at 1 p.m. at Fifth and Virginia streets; at 5 p.m. in the 1300 block of San Pablo Avenue; at 5 p.m. at Bolivar Drive and Potter Street; at 7:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Ninth Street; at 11 p.m. at Stuart and Regent streets; and at 11:20 p.m. at an unlisted location. 


A commercial burglary was reported at 7:54 a.m. in the 2800 block of Stanton Street.

A robbery was reported at 2:51 p.m. in the 1600 block of Stannage Avenue.

Four vehicles were reported stolen: at 5:20 p.m. at Seventh and Murray streets; at 7 p.m. in the 900 block of Indian Rock Avenue; at 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of Channing Way; and at 11 p.m. in the 2000 block of Prince Street.

A home burglary was reported at 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of Rose Street.

June 21, Friday

An auto burglary was reported at 10:15 a.m. at Potter and Bay streets.

Three vehicles were reported stolen: at 4:01 p.m. at Shattuck and Durant avenues; at 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of Short Street; and at 10 p.m. in the 3000 block of Regent Street.


A robbery was reported at 4:30 p.m. at Benvenue Avenue and Parker Street.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of Euclid Avenue.

A  home burglary was reported at 10:05 p.m. in the 1700 block of University Avenue.

A robbery was reported at 10:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of Center Street.

June 22, Saturday

A robbery was reported at 1 a.m. at Parker Street and College Avenue.


Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 9 a.m. in the 900 block of Cragmont Avenue, and at 11 p.m. at Rose and Arch streets.

Six thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported: at 10:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Berkeley Way; at 2 p.m. at Channing Way and Telegraph Avenue; at 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of San Lorenzo Avenue; at 7:28 p.m. at Fulton and Kittredge streets; at 10:36 p.m. in the 600 block of Vincente Avenue; and at 11 p.m. at California Street and Berkeley Way.

A robbery was reported at 11:55 a.m. in the 700 block of Hearst Avenue.

Two home burglaries were reported, at 7:20 p.m. in the 2100 block of Haste Street, and at 11 p.m. in the 2300 block of Piedmont Avenue.

June 23, Sunday

A theft from a vehicle was reported at 12:01 a.m. in the 600 block of Cragmont Avenue.

A felony sexual assault was reported at 5:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Piedmont Avenue.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 8 p.m. in the 1900 block of McGee Avenue.

An auto burglary was reported at 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Gilman Street.

June 24, Monday

Eleven thefts or burglaries from vehicles were reported. See the list here.

A commercial burglary was reported at 7:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Cedar Street.

Two home burglaries were reported, at 8 a.m. in the 2900 block of Regent Street, and at 11:12 a.m. in the 1500 block of Harmon Street.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 1 p.m. in the 1400 block of Arch Street.

A home burglary was reported at 6 p.m. in the 700 block of Creston Road.

Two vehicles were reported stolen, at 9 p.m. in the 1300 block of Oxford Way, and at 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of Woolsey Street.

A robbery was reported at 10:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Warring Street.

June 25, Tuesday

Two auto burglaries were reported, at 11:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Fairview Street, and at 12:15 p.m. in the 3000 block of Telegraph Avenue.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 7:30 p.m. from the 1700 block of Stuart Street.

June 26, Wednesday

Five home burglaries were reported: at 3:10 a.m. in the 1200 block of Hopkins Street; at 11:40 a.m. in the 700 block of Contra Costa Avenue; at noon in the 1600 block of McGee Avenue; at 3:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of Fulton Street; and at 3:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Haste Street.

Three auto burglaries were reported, one at 8:15 a.m. in the 2800 block of Piedmont Avenue, and two at 8:30 p.m. at College Avenue and Russell Street (possibly a duplicate call).

A gun or weapon was reported at 2:23 p.m. in the 2200 block of Shattuck Avenue.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 5:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Parker.

A robbery was reported at 11:40 p.m. at Fairview and Ellis streets.
