Sundays on Telegraph is going strong on Telegraph Avenue, and Berkeleyside is excited to announced the winners of the event’s first photo contest, which wrapped up in July.

Mayor Tom Bates‘ office launched the photo contest earlier this summer, in collaboration with Berkeleyside, to award the shooters who captured the best images of the event so far this year. The street festival, which started last year, closes Telegraph to vehicle traffic on Sundays from July through September.

Street performers of all stripes are part of the annual event, from the bubble man to live music to board games, jugglers and many other entertainers.

This year’s photo contest winner is Edfil Dulay. Judges also chose two runner-up winners in the adult category, Tom Holub‎ and Daniel Levine. This year’s youth winner is Sunanda Carmela, a 17-year-old Berkeley High School rising senior.

Adult winners will receive theater tickets from a participating venue; Berkeley Rep, the Shotgun Players and Aurora contributed tickets for the contest. The youth winner will receive prizes from Sockshop Telegraph and the Berkeley Hat Company.

There may be more opportunities to win cool prizes as the event continues. Stay tuned to the Sundays on Telegraph Facebook page for details.

The event runs Sundays through Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Telegraph Avenue from Dwight Way north to Durant Avenue.

Berkeleyside is a sponsor of Sundays on Telegraph.
