Go Girls! Camp

Dates: Jun 15, 2020 – Aug 7, 2020
Registration: Click to register »

Go Girls! Camp (rising 1st-4th) & Go Girls! Productions (rising 5th-7th gr.), gives girls/tweens and gender non-conforming kids a platform to speak up, stand tall and spark change! By making theater, art, music, and media, girls learn the skills to love themselves and each other, and make bold and brave choices in their lives and communities.

Young feminists kick off this new decade by claiming who they are and what they stand for- not just on their own, but together… across difference. They’ll learn about girl activists that came before them and be inspired to rise themselves. Go Girls! 2020 Let’s go.

Julia Morgan School for Girls – Girls Summer Camp

Dates: Jun 15, 2020 – Jun 26, 2020
Registration: Click to register »

JMSG Girls Summer Camp offers unique programming for girls entering 3rd/4th grades and for girls entering 5th/6th grades.

The 3rd/4th program focuses on building community and empowering girls to express themselves authentically through art and movement.

The 5th/6th program invites inspirational guests to share about their careers and lead workshops with the girls, with the aim of encouraging girls to imagine themselves in professions where women are traditionally underrepresented.

Each session of Camp is one week long and will have a variety of activities as well as a project theme. Girls may choose to enroll in one or both sessions. Every day the girls will engage in activities that are planned by JMSG faculty and designed to serve all learning styles. Most activities include a creative component, group work, and opportunity for self-reflection. Activities may include: learning dances, playing music, writing and performing poetry, exploring science, making nature-inspired art, practicing yoga, and playing sports or games. The community time between activities is led by JMSG alum who volunteer to be teaching assistants in the summer program.

A significant number of campers return each year and many ultimately apply to JMSG for the academic school year: JMSG Girls Summer Camp is the perfect way to experience the magic of an all-girls setting and our fun, confidence-building culture in a few weeks of summer.

Our camp consists of a morning academic program and afternoon enrichment classes. Our academic program is designed to review essential topics and introduce new content they will encounter. In addition to a daily homeroom, students will rotate through two morning academic courses, English and Mathematics. Academic classes run daily and are 90 minutes in length.

Afternoon Enrichment courses are meant to provide exposure and expansion of knowledge to a variety of skills. From science and technology to arts and athletics, these courses offer middle-school students an opportunity to enjoy learning outside of their morning, grade-specific courses.

Our ultimate goal is to expose and expand the content knowledge and experience of every student. To accomplish this, every class will include students from different schools, age groups (sixth-ninth grade) and skill sets. We know that students best learn from their peers and providing this diverse, eclectic blend of campers will enhance the experience for everyone.
