Berkeley police arrested a 56-year-old man Thursday night on suspicion of attempted homicide in what appears to have been an incident of domestic violence, authorities said Friday afternoon.
Update, 10:50 p.m. The Berkeley Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls of possible gunshots in the area of Bancroft Way and Bonar Street at about 9 p.m., said Berkeley Police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Coats via email.
A 24-year-old San Leandro man has been ordered by a judge to face charges in the murder case against him for a fatal shooting in Berkeley last year.

Mary Kusmiss: “About 12:51 a.m., on Sunday, March 4, 2012, the City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) received multiple reports from community members regarding gunshots heard in the area of 7th and Addison Streets. BPD patrol officers responded and found the victims at Sixth and Bancroft Way as they were trying to leave the area. City of Berkeley Fire Department (BFD) responded to medically assess the victims.”
Three males were shot Friday night at around 6:21 p.m. in the 2200 block of Bonar Street in central Berkeley, according to the Lt. Kevin Schofield of the Berkeley Police Department.
